During their study trip to Shenzhen, the Fellows paid a visit to Royole, the Chinese company that made the world's first bendable smartphone. Among the first to get a glimpse of the flexible screen pioneer's new products, the Fellows also learned how this six-year-old start-up came up with the idea of creating a bendable smartphone.
During their study trip to Shenzhen, the Fellows had the opportunity to visit Ant Financial's office in Shanghai and discuss with CEO & Executive Chairman Mr Eric Jing the company’s future tech services and the strategies for expansion in other parts of the world. Ant Financial Services Group, established in October 2014, is a technology provider that aims to bring inclusive financial services to the world. Headquartered in Hangzhou, China, they operate Alipay, the world’s largest online payment and lifestyle platform.
The 2019 AsiaGlobal Fellows toured the Tencent headquarters during their study trip to Shenzhen. In addition to being briefed on the tech giant's background, the Fellows also explored everyday and social applications of Tencent's technology.
