Religion and Globalization seminar series - Is There an Islamic Response to Globalization?

Despite being an ethnic minority, China’s Muslims have become increasingly significant for China’s international relations and economic strategies.

This round table features scholars from religious studies, sociology, political science, and journalism, bringing academic and journalist insights on issues including:

1) What are the histories concerning Muslims in China and their transnational connections?
2) Can we identify the relationship between Islamic institutions and histories and the different model of economic and social development of Muslim societies?
3) Are there patterns of Islamic globalization that differ from those of the West and of China?
4) Can we compare the issues concerning Islam in China and the West?
