The AsiaGlobal Fellows Program is an interdisciplinary global leadership development initiative for mid-career professionals with a strong interest and track record in public policy. It aims to nurture future leaders and create influencers with a deeper understanding of global issues from Asian perspectives.

Application FAQ's

There are no formal academic requirements, but Fellows will normally be university graduates.

The application period for the 2024 cohort will be opened soon till February 2024. All applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.

All applications must be completed and submitted through the online application system.

An acknowledgement with an assigned application number will be sent to applicants by email after they have submitted the application.

Yes. Even though your pervious application was unsuccessful in the past, you could be a good fit for the coming cohort but you will need to apply again.

Yes. All shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an online interview with our Admissions Panel. While we will take different time zones into consideration, it is the responsibility of candidates to plan ahead for time differences. If you are unable to join the scheduled interview due to unforeseeable circumstances, such as sudden illness or accidents, please email our coordinator immediately at Please note that a rescheduled interview is not guaranteed.

All applicants will be notified by email on the final admissions decision.

All applications must be completed and submitted through the online application system before the prescribed deadline. All applications submitted after this date will not be considered.

No. Letters of recommendation from referees are of great importance in assessing applications. Please ensure that you have obtained the consent and accurate contact details of your three referees BEFORE you begin your application process. An email informing your referees of your request for a recommendation will be sent to them as soon as you submit your application. Reminders will be sent close to the application deadline. Your application will be considered incomplete until all your recommendation letters have been uploaded and you will be informed by email once your application is complete.

Please ensure that all the letters are written in English.

We are unable to view your applications before they are completed. However, the system has been designed to keep you informed about the status of your recommendation letters.


Fellows are expected to cover their travel expenses to Hong Kong from their place of origin, and back.

Please refer to The University of Hong Kong’s guide to applying for student visas. Fellows are responsible for providing all necessary documents and information that would enable them to obtain student visas in accordance with Hong Kong laws. You are advised to ensure that your travel documents are valid for at least six months beyond the planned dates of your stay in Hong Kong.
