Sarker Omar Faroque works as a Deputy Director (Training, Research & Publication) at the Police Staff College Bangladesh which is an apex training institute of the Bangladesh Police. His responsibilities include coordinating training programs and research, editing and compiling research reports, and supervising all publications, among them the Annual Report, Newsletter and Journal. He has worked as a National Training Consultant at the Police Reform Program of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP). Omar holds BA (Honors) and MA degrees in English from the University of Dhaka. He also has a MA in Applied Human Rights from the University of York (U.K.), which was made possible through the award of a Chevening Scholarship from the British Government. He was also awarded the Australian Award Fellowship on Violent Extremism Professional Development Program at Macquarie University, Australia.
His research focused on policy issues and operational implications for the Bangladesh Police of promoting environmental justice and combating green crime.
