In the 2018 parliamentary democratic elections, he played a strategic role in Druk Nyamrup Tshogpa’s landslide win to form the government in Bhutan. He also worked as a deputy royal chamberlain to the King of Bhutan. He was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2013.

Tshering holds a master’s degree of public administration/ international development from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.
