She has over 15 years of experience serving in the Australian federal government, including as a foreign investment specialist at the Australian Treasury, as well as a Minister’s office. Helen began her public service career at the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, where she was posted to the Australian Embassy in Jakarta from 2010 to 2013.

In 2019, she was recognized in the inaugural 40 under 40 Most Influential Asian-Australian Awards for her impact in public service. Helen is passionate about good public policy and how it can improve the lives of people and the planet.

Helen holds a bachelor’s degree in philosophy, finance, and accounting from the University of Sydney, as well as a master’s degree in economic policy from the Australian National University. She is also a qualified CPA.

Her research examined the impact of Australian tertiary education on Chinese nationals, specifically how their education, life experience, and networks developed in Australia have influenced their perspectives and careers upon returning to China.
