Diane Mak is Senior Director of Impact Solutions at Y Analytics. Her focus is on the design of innovative, results-focused funding mechanisms to address social and development challenges. Diane was instrumental to the development of the first Social Impact Bond in the UK to support at-risk young people in safely remaining with their families and preventing them from entering institutional care. She has advised organizations such as the World Bank, the Global Fund, UK Department for International Development, Clinton Health Access Initiative, and governments around the world to support them in delivering better outcomes.
Previously, Diane was an Economist at the London School of Economics’ International Growth Centre. She also worked as a consultant to the Deputy Minister of Finance in Liberia and as Contributing Editor of Transparency International’s Global Corruption Report. Diane started her career in investment banking at Citigroup. She holds a master’s degree in Public Administration in International Development from Harvard Kennedy School and a bachelor’s degree in Economics from Cambridge University.
Diane’s research as an AsiaGlobal Fellow focused on the potential for implementing innovative financing approaches in Hong Kong and other Asian economies to deliver better social and development outcomes.
