About Alisson Andrade

Alisson Andrade is adviser for competitive intelligence and promotion at Embratur, the Brazilian Tourism Board of the Ministry of Tourism. Previously, he was in charge of implementing strategies related to promoting Brazil as a tourism destination in the international markets.

Alisson has been a civil servant in the Brazilian Federal Government since 2010, serving in different departments, including the Secretariat of Foreign Trade of the Ministry of Economy. In that role, he coordinated bilateral trade forums between Brazil and the US, and participated in the negotiation of international agreements with the European Union and Canada. Before that, he worked in the private sector for industrial associations.

Alisson holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from the Catholic University of Brasilia. He also holds an MBA in Foreign Trade and International Negotiations from Getúlio Vargas Foundation (FGV) and a master’s degree in International Political Economy from the University of Warwick with a Chevening fellowship.

His research as an AsiaGlobal Fellow focused on public policies to improve Brazil’s competitiveness in international trade and tourism, including the strategy of the country to attract internal and external investments and to promote its tourist destinations.
