At the 2019 Innovation Forum jointly organized by Jiemian.com and Evonik Industries AG on October 25, 2019, Zhiwu Chen, Director of Asia Global Institute, shared his views on how industrial enterprises should evolve and grow their businesses.
With the continuous downward pressure on China’s economic growth, Zhiwu Chen urged Chinese entrepreneurs to revisit the 2008 financial crisis and its aftermath whereby U.S. companies were less affected than their Chinese counterparts. Zhiwu Chen also shared his recent observations during the study trip to China with this year’s AsiaGlobal Fellows and pointed out that choosing the right business model was a key factor for sustainable development of enterprises. This led to a more detailed discussion about business diversification versus focus.
