Why Hong Kong is trying to make waves in global legal scene

In a recent South China Morning Post article, AGI Senior Fellow, Shahla Ali, shares her perspective on Hong Kong's growing role in international dispute resolution.

Hong Kong is set to become the home of the world's first international legal organization dedicated to mediation, a move that aims to bolster its status as a key dispute resolution hub. "The body could address three types of disputes: those between states; those between a state and a foreign national; and those between companies based in different jurisdictions," Ali explains, emphasizing the potential of the International Organization for Mediation (IOM) to resolve a wide range of global conflicts.
