HIGHLIGHTS OF 2019 ASIAGLOBAL FELLOWS PROGRAM

During their study trip to Shenzhen, the Fellows visited Salubris Pharmaceuticals, a pharmaceutical group that conducts research and development, production and business sales. CEO Kevin Ye also met with the Fellows to discuss future trends and challenges of the pharmaceutical industry in China.


The Fellows met with author and Indian Member of Parliament Jairam Ramesh to discuss the nation's economy and his party, the Indian National Congress. Jairam Ramesh, a former Minister for Environment, Forests and Climate Change and the current Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Science and Technology, Environment and Forests, was an Indian negotiator at the COP15 in Copenhagen, Denmark.




Over a meal with political scientist Pratap Bhanu Mehta, our 2019 AsiaGlobal Fellows discussed politics and social transformation in India. Mehta was president and chief executive of the Centre for Policy Research. He has taught at Harvard University, Jawaharlal Nehru University, and the New York University School of Law. His areas of research include political theory, constitutional law, society and politics in India, governance and political economy, and international affairs.
