Sebastian Contin Trillo-Figueroa, AsiaGlobal Fellow 2022, co-authors an article in Asia Times arguing that the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Tianjin showcased China's evolving foreign policy and its ambition to shape the global order.
The authors contend that the SCO, despite its internal contradictions, serves as a platform for China to project influence and experiment with a new approach to multilateralism, one that challenges the US-led system.
