AHEC 2018 Asian Historical Economics Conference at HKU

Asian Historical Economics Conference (AHEC) is biannually organized by the Asian Historical Economics Society since 2008. This year’s conference follows earlier conferences of the Asian Historical Economics Society in Venice (2008), Beijing (2010), Tokyo (2012), Istanbul (2014), and Seoul (2016), aiming to bring together researchers working on the economic history of all regions of Asia, as well as those comparing Asia with other regions. The Sixth Asian Historical Economics Conference (AHEC 2018) was hosted by Asia Global Institute and the Faculty of Business and Economics at the University of Hong Kong, in collaboration with the International Society for Quantitative Society. The two-day conference was held at Level 3, Core E, Cyberport 3 and Le Méridien Hotel, Hong Kong on Friday-Saturday, September 21-22, 2018.

A half-day city tour will be arranged for AHEC 2018 participants joining package A or B. Details will be sent to confirmed registrants via email by Wednesday, September 19.

Registration instructions
Spouse / Accompanying Person: Presenters may wish to invite a spouse or guest to take part in the conference dinner. Please contact AHEC 2018 by email to register accompanying persons.

Food Allergies & Restrictions: Please let us know if you have any dietary restrictions or special considerations, and we will do our best to accommodate your request. We appreciate advance notice on any restrictions by July 20, 2018.

Refund Policy (for AHEC 2018 Presenters:
Cancellations must be sent to AHEC 2018 via email AHEC2018@hku.hk.
– Cancellation on or before June 20, 2018 – A full refund (less an administrative fee of HKD$100)
– Cancellation on or before July 20, 2018 – A 50% refund will be given.
– Cancellation after August 30, 2018 – We will not refund money for requests to withdraw from AHEC 2018 except under extreme situations beyond control such as illness.
Note: No refunds until the end of conference.
