Yen Tan is an investment and public policy specialist with over 20 years of experience across global investment banking and government sectors in Australia and Hong Kong. She is currently an assistant director at the Net Zero Economy Authority, the Australian Government's statutory agency overseeing the national economic transition to net zero, where she advises on renewable energy, green metals, and industrial decarbonization strategies to align public policy with private capital investment. Her work has contributed to major policy initiatives in priority sectors and regions, and stakeholder alignment across government and industry.

Prior to her current role, Yen played a key role in attracting domestic and international investment into Australia’s clean economy, working closely with investors, industry, and government agencies to unlock renewable energy and infrastructure projects. She has led high-impact stakeholder engagements, supported ministerial priorities, and helped shape investment pipelines in emerging industries.

She spent her early career in equity research at global investment banks, including Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs. As an executive director at Goldman Sachs Australia, she provided strategic market analysis and sector insights across natural resources, financial institutions, and technology to support major capital market transactions.

As an AsiaGlobal Fellow, Yen’s research will explore how Asian economies can mobilize capital and public policy to strengthen green industry competitiveness, with a particular focus on the role of cross-border investment, regional cooperation, and public-private partnerships in shaping the next phase of Asia’s energy transition.
