Priscilla Gatonye is an international development specialist in Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET), focusing on youth empowerment, gender equality, and social inclusion. As a programme officer at the UNESCO-UNEVOC International Center for TVET, she manages global thematic programming across a network of over 250 centers worldwide in 152 countries. In this role, she oversees institutional leadership initiatives, youth entrepreneurship campaigns, and serves as the organization's strategic focal point for Africa, gender, and youth.  

Prior to joining UNESCO-UNEVOC, Priscilla managed skills development and youth employability portfolios across East Africa. Her experience includes roles with the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce, ArcSkills under the Mastercard Foundation’s “Young Africa Works” initiative, Robert Bosch GmbH, and the German Agency for International Cooperation. Throughout these roles, she directed programs centered on women's economic empowerment and inclusive workforce development. 

Priscilla holds an MSc in international supply chain management from the University of Exeter, a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of Nairobi, and an MDP in microfinance from Strathmore University. She is also certified as an AEVO International Master Trainer.

As an AsiaGlobal Fellow, her research will focus on gender equity in TVET, examining how Asian countries’ STEM and skills-development pathways address, and sometimes reproduce, gender gaps in technical fields.
