Kristina Anguelova is a sustainable finance and climate policy expert whose work focuses on bridging the gap between environmental ambition and financial implementation. With experience across Europe, Asia, and Latin America, she works with governments, financial institutions, and international organisations to design policies, frameworks and market mechanisms that accelerate the transition to a low-carbon, nature-positive economy.

In her current role as policy and partnerships advisor at The Nature Conservancy, Kristina supports the development of high-integrity carbon markets and climate finance solutions across the Asia-Pacific region, with a particular focus on Article 6 implementation and nature-based solutions. Previously, she served as head of Asia sustainable finance at WWF, where she oversaw initiatives on sustainable finance regulation, taxonomies, climate-related disclosures and capacity building for the finance sector. Her work has contributed to significant sustainable finance developments such as the Singapore-Asia Transition Taxonomy, and has supported policymakers, regulators, investors and financial institutions in translating sustainability commitments into practical action.

Kristina holds an MBA with a major in sustainable finance and digital innovation. Beyond her professional roles, she is a lecturer, speaker and host of The Climate Influencer, a podcast exploring the systems, institutions and individuals shaping the future of climate action.

As an AsiaGlobal Fellow, her research will examine how emerging climate finance instruments, particularly Article 6.2 cooperative approaches, sustainable finance taxonomies and frameworks, interact within Asia’s evolving geopolitical landscape and how these can unlock greater investment in climate and nature solutions, while supporting equitable and resilient economic development.
