Abhinav is a finance professional with expertise in Asian equities and cross border capital markets flows. Based in Hong Kong, he serves as a managing director and co-head of equity sales, Asia, at the Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corporation Limited (HSBC), where he leads institutional client coverage across equity-linked products, including equity derivatives, convertible bonds, exchange-traded funds, quantitative investment strategies and equity solutions. He previously served as head of flow equity derivative sales, Asia, at HSBC.

Prior to joining HSBC, Abhinav worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Royal Bank of Scotland, and CIMB. Over his career as an emerging markets specialist, he has been stationed in major financial centers across New York, London, Hong Kong, Singapore, Dhaka, and Kuala Lumpur, developing a comprehensive perspective on global and regional financial ecosystems. Alongside his corporate roles, he serves on the advisory board of the Centre for Analytical Finance in India and writes on market trends. 

Abhinav holds a bachelor’s degree in government and economics from Bowdoin College, an MBA from the Indian School of Business, a master’s degree in finance from London Business School, and a DBA from the University of Warwick. 

As an AsiaGlobal Fellow, his research will examine how capital markets innovation in Hong Kong can deepen regional economic integration and strengthen cross-border financial flows across Asia.
