AsiaGlobal Fellow 2024
Sahar Albazar is an Egyptian Member of Parliament and the Deputy Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee at the Egyptian House of Representatives. She was recently selected as the Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee for the Majority Political Party.
She is also the former President of the IPU Forum of Young Parliamentarians. Additionally, she is currently serving as the Elected Chair of the Women Parliamentary Council of the Parliamentary Network on the IMF & World Bank.
Sahar graduated in 2024 from the New Security Course at the Geneva Centre for Security Policy, where she completed 264 hours of training on security policies under the guidance of 59 experts from 21 countries.
In 2022, she was named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and was selected as a World Fellow by Yale University. In 2024, She was selected as Obama Leader representing Africa.
Sahar holds a master's degree in public administration from Harvard Kennedy School.
Her research as an AsiaGlobal Fellow will explore ways to enhance trade relations between Hong Kong and Egypt.
