About Loke-Khoon Tan

Loke-Khoon Tan is a Senior Consultant in the award-winning IP & Technology Group at Baker McKenzie in Hong Kong and China. A leading authority in his field, he previously led the practice group for 15 years and currently serves on the Global Firm’s Steering Committee for the Consumer Goods & Retail Industry Practice. His practice focuses on intellectual property law in the PRC, with a particular emphasis on structuring IP rights and anti-counterfeiting strategies for trademarks, patents, and copyrights. He has extensive experience representing major international brands across the luxury, fashion, pharmaceutical, media, and technology sectors. Mr. Tan is also an Adjunct Professor of Law at The University of Hong Kong and the author of the acclaimed “Pirates in the Middle Kingdom” book trilogy. He is a member of the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre’s Domain Name Dispute Resolution Panel and the WIPO Arbitration and Mediation Centre Panel. Admitted to practice in Singapore, England & Wales, and Hong Kong, he holds an LLB from the National University of Singapore and an Executive MBA from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
