Christopher Chan is a seasoned finance executive with over four decades of experience in global investment management and central banking. He most recently served as Chief Investment Officer of Public Markets at the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), where he oversaw the fixed income portfolio and Tactical CrossAsset Allocation (TAA) strategies within the Exchange Fund Investment Office. He joined the HKMA in 2015, initially as Head of the Asset Allocation Division, where he led the development of a comprehensive three-tier asset allocation framework for the Exchange Fund. He was a member of the Exchange Fund Investment Committee for Private Equities, Infrastructure and Real Estate investments. He was also a member of the Investment Committee of the HK Deposit Protection Board. He frequently speaks at different international Sovereign Wealth Funds Forums, Central Bank Reserve Manager Roundtables and major international investment symposiums. 

Prior to his public sector tenure, Christopher spent 27 years at J.P. Morgan, where he held various senior roles across the treasury and investment businesses. His final position was Asia Chief Investment Officer, overseeing the bank's investment portfolio and asset/liability management across the Asia-Pacific region. During his tenure as JPM Asia CIO, he was an Executive Board Member of the Hong Kong Treasury Markets Association and the Chair of its Market Practice Committee, overseeing the post Global Financial Crisis HIBOR review. 

In addition, Christopher is Co-Chair of the Advisory Committee for the Master of Science in Finance and BSc in Quantitative Finance programs at CUHK Business School since 2015, where he also serves as an Adjunct Professor in Finance. He has joined the Bretton Woods Committee in 2024 and currently a member of the advisory council. He is also a member of the Investment Committee of the Hong Kong Catholic Diocese. 

Christopher holds an MBA in Finance from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Economics from Santa Clara University in California.
