About Amit Wanchoo

Amit Wanchoo is a 2018 AsiaGlobal Fellow. He is also chief executive officer of Space Communications and chairman of HN Wanchoo Trust. 

Trained as a medical doctor from SKIMS Medical College, Kashmir, Amit Wanchoo is the CEO of Space Communications, the first event, sports and film shoot management company of Jammu and Kashmir. He has also founded H.N. Wanchoo Trust in the name of his grandfather who was assassinated in 1992 at Srinagar, Kashmir. This trust runs free night ambulance service in the valley. Dr. Wanchoo is also the director of Eaton Laboratories, a pharmaceutical manufacturing unit of Kashmir valley.

Amit is deeply interested in public policy and social activism. He will be researching on various factors that are responsible for sustaining conflict in a particular region for a long time. These factors are namely: Funding, Education, Accountability and Religious Radicalization (F.E.A.R.).

Amit has been awarded Paul Harris Fellow (2005), Commonwealth Fellow (2006), Yale World Fellow (2007), SIP Fellow (2008), Young Global Leader (2009) by World Economic forum, Gurukul Fellow (2010), Young Entrepreneur Award (2011), Star Achiever Award (2012), Fellowship in Global Leadership and Public Policy at Harvard Kennedy School (2014).
